Do you ever lie in bed thinking:“Are they actually learning anything?”, “Did we do enough today?”, “Should we follow a curriculum?”, "Am I even cut out for this?", "Am I ruining their future?"
Are you juggling a million things and secretly wishing learning could just happen without so much prep, pressure, or Pinterest boards?
Do you dream of raising curious, engaged kids but some days you’re just trying to make it to bedtime without crying into the washing?
Do you want to make home-ed fun, meaningful, and connected… but right now it feels like you’re winging it (badly) with a pile of half-used workbooks and no idea where to start?
And you're in exactly the right place!
Welcome to Knowmads - a home-ed community and resource hub where each topic becomes a cross-curricular adventure through history, science, geography, stories, art, and hands-on activities.
With Knowmads:
Your children will fall in love with learning through curiosity-led exploration.
You'll stop second-guessing yourself and finally feel like, "Yes, we've got this!"
Home-ed will become a shared adventure, not a solo struggle.
You don't need a curriculum. Curiosity and a theme can give you all the structure you need - without stress and overwhelm!
I'm Anna - fellow home-ed mum, enthusiastic tutor, inspired resource creator, experienced world traveller, keen DIYer, so-so cook, pitiful gardener, recovering perfectionist, happy wife, loyal friend, devoted dog lover, and above all - a lifelong Knowmad.
I’ve been home-educating my two now teenagers and also teaching history and science to other home-ed children for the past 15 years, and so I know firsthand how hard it can be to balance learning with life (and laundry).
In the early years, even though I was super enthusiastic about home-ed, I struggled... I was overwhelmed by all the "shoulds", stressed about doing enough, and desperately wishing someone would just hand me a plan.
Over time, I found my groove and it basically involved two things: curiosity and fun. Some of the best days we’ve had started with a good question and turned into hours of creating, talking, reading, experimenting or just exploring together. That’s why I created Knowmads - to help other busy home-ed families make home-ed feel easy, meaningful and fun.
Whether you've only just started home-educating or your little ones are finally past the toddler-tornado stage and you want to add more "structured learning" - I'm here to guide and remind you that:
You don’t need a colour-coded curriculum plan to give your child a rich education.
You just need a spark and a little support from someone who's been there and done that...
Teaching kids to love learning, ask questions, outline ideas and figure things out is far more valuable
than knowing the answers.
Knowmads' mission is to make home-education easier and more fun (for both kids and grown ups) by focusing on what really matters:
curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Fun, low or no-prep learning adventures you can use right away. From the Question Quest Journals that spark deep thinking to hands-on science kits with themed experiments, these printables are designed to make learning easy and fun. No more Pinterest scrolling!
Encouragement, ideas and inspiration, straight to your inbox. MAP stands for
Make, Ask, and Pause. Each week, you’ll get:
a simple hands-on activity or experiment to try, a big question to explore together, and a gentle reflection or mindset boost (the kind I wish someone had sent me years ago).
It’s free and completely no-pressure!
A monthly membership for curious families.
The Knowmads Club is your place for immersive, themed, history based journeys packed with: bite-size lessons, engaging projects, hands-on activities, research prompts, all cross-curricular and created to help you explore the world in meaningful, fun ways, alongside other like-minded families, and without much prep, planning or burning out.
When your child is genuinely interested, learning happens naturally, joyfully, and often in ways no curriculum could ever plan for.
A single question can lead to a day (or a week!) of reading, drawing, building, wondering and exploring.
Looking back, I wish I could sit my younger self down (you know, the exhausted one worrying if she was enough and googling “home education planner” at 1am) and whisper a few things in her ear.
